Jewelry Care

How do I clean my fine jewelry?

Your jewelry should be cleaned with a soft, lint-free cloth.

If your pieces with 14k gold, diamonds, sapphires, rubies, quartz and other hard stones are especially dirty you can follow the deeper cleaning instructions below.

Softer stones such as emeralds, turquoise, lapis, mother of pearl should only be cleaned with a damp soft cloth—no soaking. Enamel can be especially delicate as well, with the biggest danger being cracking due to the impact of dropping it on hard surfaces.

1. Prepare a Gentle Cleaning Solution

Mix a few drops of mild dish soap with warm (not hot) water in a small bowl. Avoid harsh chemicals, as they can damage certain stones or settings.

2. Soak the Jewelry

Let your piece soak for 15–20 minutes to loosen dirt, oils, and residue.

3. Gently Brush

Using a soft-bristled toothbrush (ideally baby-soft), gently clean around the stone and setting. Pay special attention to the underside, where buildup often collects.

4. Rinse Thoroughly

Rinse under warm running water. Be sure to plug the sink or use a fine mesh strainer to avoid losing anything.

5. Dry with Care

Pat dry with a lint-free cloth or allow it to air-dry on a soft surface. Avoid paper towels, which can scratch gold and stones.

Tennis Bracelet & Necklace Clasps

How do I latch my tennis bracelet or necklace?

Many of our tennis necklace and bracelets come with a safety lock located underneath the piece.

Insert the tongue clasp into the bracelet or necklace until you hear or feel it click into place. Then, secure the safety lock located underneath the bracelet for added security.

To remove the bracelet or necklace, release the underside safety lock first, then gently push the release button to open the clasp.

Tip: Before wearing your bracelet or necklace, ensure both the clasp and safety lock are fully secured.

Pendants & Bails

What is a pendant bail?

A pendant bail connects a pendant to a chain that is too thick to go through the ring of the pendant.

Even for our chunkiest chains, the pendant can be attached via the necklace clasp, as you see pictured on many of our products. To wear it this way, the clasp is worn in the front. It provides a cool and edgy look.

If you'd like to attach pendants on chain links, pendant bails are needed for most paperclip chains and a variety of other chunkier chains as well.

You can see all of our pendant bails in the "Pendants" section. You can also email us at hello@felicidaddesign.com if you have any questions on compatability.

We also have a number of more delicate necklaces where the pendant can slide on the necklace.

If you have any questions or need help, we’re here! Please email hello@felicidaddesign.com.

Yes. We have a number of different pendant bails, so want to give you the option to choose what you like best.

Many of the pendant bails look nice on their own, affixed to a necklace, bracelet or hoop earring.

Will pendants flip?

Depending on the way you attach pendants they can flip. We think this gives a care-free, casual look.

However, if you don’t want your pendant to flip, attach it via the necklace clasp or affix the bail through numerous links.

Yes. We can customize and personalize pieces. If you're interested in a personalized design, contact us to get started.

What types of pieces can I have custom made?

Nearly any piece can be custom made—from engagement rings and wedding bands to necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and rings. Whether you're reimagining one of our existing designs, creating something entirely bespoke, or sourcing the perfect natural or lab-grown diamond, we'll work with you to bring your vision to life.

While we offer custom pieces in both natural and lab-grown diamonds, the majority of our custom requests are for lab-grown diamonds. Most often, we're creating diamond studs, eternity bands, tennis bracelets, tennis necklaces, and engagement rings, allowing clients to maximize carat weight while maintaining exceptional quality and craftsmanship.

Natural & Lab-Grown Diamonds

What are lab-grown diamonds?

Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds created in a laboratory rather than formed naturally within the earth. They share the same chemical composition, physical properties, brilliance, and durability as natural diamonds and are virtually indistinguishable without the use of specialized gemological equipment.

One of the greatest advantages of lab-grown diamonds is the ability to enjoy more carat weight and exceptional quality at a more accessible price point. At Felicidad, we believe there is a place for both natural and lab-grown diamonds. We often mix and match the two, embracing lab-grown diamonds for opportunities to go bigger or experiment with new styles while continuing to favor natural diamonds for milestone pieces and future heirlooms.

Do you use naturally grown or lab grown diamonds?

Unless otherwise specified, every diamond at Felicidad is a natural diamond.

Pieces featuring lab-grown diamonds are always clearly identified, allowing you to choose the diamond that's right for you and the moment you're celebrating

Are natural or lab-grown diamonds better?

We believe each has a place in a thoughtfully curated jewelry collection.

Lab-grown diamonds offer the opportunity to embrace larger stones, experiment with new styles, and enjoy exceptional beauty at a more accessible price point.

For milestone pieces, future heirlooms, and designs meant to be passed down through generations, we continue to favor natural diamonds.
